DALLAS – October 23, 2008 – Market Center Management Company (MCMC), the management company of leading wholesale trade centers and trade events around the world, today announced David Pennes will join the company as vice president of new business development beginning November 4. His immediate responsibilities will include general management of all aspects of GlobalTex: LA International Textile & Sourcing Fair, including sales, marketing, attendee acquisition, and operations. He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Cindy Morris, chief operating officer.

Pennes will join MCMC from Advanstar Communications Inc./MAGIC International where he holds the position of show director/international sales manager. He is a highly experienced and well-rounded international sales, marketing and management executive who has spent more than 30 years in the apparel business in a variety of roles including retailer, buyer, sourcing merchandiser, sales executive, marketer and tradeshow director. Pennes has spent more than nine years with Advanstar Communications Inc./MAGIC International where he created the trade event “Sourcing at MAGIC,” one of the largest apparel and fabric sourcing events in North America.

Pennes has also worked as director of international business development for Red Herring Events; director of marketing for the men’s apparel manufacturer, TC Group, Inc.; vice president of sales for the trade exposition company, Interexpo; president of the apparel fashion brand, NRG, Inc.; and buyer and divisional store manager at R.H. Macy’s.
