GlobalTex Welcomes Rosemarie Ojalvo as Sales Manager – Technology

DALLAS – August 4, 2008 – Market Center Management Company (MCMC), the management company of leading wholesale trade centers and trade events around the world, today announced the newest member of its team responsible for GlobalTex: LA International Textile & Sourcing Fairsm – Rosemarie Ojalvo, sales manager – technology. GlobalTex, endorsed by the Textile Association of Los Angeles (TALA), will be held twice annually at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) with the first show April 28 – 30, 2009 and the following October 13 – 15, 2009.

Rosemarie Ojalvo, an acknowledged industry expert and founder and president of OCI Marketing Inc., has consulted with various apparel manufacturing companies on how to export their products in a changing world environment. Prior to joining the GlobalTex team, Ojalvo handled sales within the United States, Canada and Western Europe for Material World Miami Beach and was instrumental in launching the show in 2000.

She has also worked as an independent consultant for such world class shows as Bobbin World, USA; Batimat, France; Equitana, Germany; and Alimentaria, Spain. Ojalvo’s new role with GlobalTex will allow her to use her accumulated contacts and sales expertise to focus on the technology sector, as well as Western Europe. Ojalvo will report to Stephanie Cole, vice president of leasing, MCMC.

GlobalTex will feature a complete assortment of technology including computer systems, software and equipment to complement hundreds of textile exhibitors. The show will fill a void on the West Coast for technology companies by providing a wide variety of solutions in the apparel/textile industry. It will be an opportunity to showcase their products and offer educational programs that will stimulate networking and business.

GlobalTex is led by a team of accomplished staff in Los Angeles with support from the central office in Dallas. With extensive experience in developing and managing large-scale exhibitions globally, the staff is currently recruiting both manufacturers and buyers domestically and internationally and in discussions with key international groups of manufacturers in Asia, Europe and South America. This effort will be essential in creating a show successful on a global standard while increasing TALA’s commitment to the textile industry.
